Cape Town

Cape Town, the country’s oldest city and arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world, by South Africans lovingly called “The Mother City”, is situated at the Southern tip of Africa, enjoying a wonderful Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild, yet sometimes wet winters.

Cape Town doesn’t really need much of an introduction anymore. It is now firmly on the tourist map as one of the top cities in the world to visit, as it has so much to offer to its guests.

Cape Town, the surrounding Cape Winelands and coastal areas should definitely not be overlooked when planning a trip to Southern Africa. It makes a perfect city/beach add-on to any safari and has something for everyone: world class vineyards within the most magnificent scenery, white beaches (but be careful, the water is cold!), the unique Table Mountain, excellent restaurants, diverse culture in true rainbow-nation style and a vibrant nightlife.

Just over an hour drive from Cape Town along the east cost you will get to Hermanus, which is known as the finest location in the world for land-based whale watching. To the west you have St Helena Bay and Paternoster, a true Mecca for seafood lovers.
